SEARCH ENGINE PAY PER CLICK - GOOGLE ADWORDS

The fastest growing type of Web advertising is Pay Per Click. Led by Google AdWords, the Pay Per Click service allows bidders to develop text advertisements that are associated with search terms. If a searcher then clicks on the advertisement and is sent to the Website, the bidder pays based on what they have bid for that search term.

"Alex suggested we did an AdWords campaign for ****** and I'm writing this after the first week. It has absolutely gone bananas! We have 10 bookings for all sorts of events during a traditionally quiet time for us, all via AdWords. Almost unbelievable!"

Alan from *******. (Company name withheld, they are doing so well!)

So why would you do an AdWords campaign?

  • For a new site. SEO can take six months to a year to start having effect
  • Where you want to explore other search terms or check out niche markets
  • You want a quick boost in visitor numbers
  • You have a special promotion or short term sale

It is very dependent on your industry, the more competition, the more you pay per click. The per-click rate can range from 20c upwards into the several dollars per click.

You can:

  • Set your target market geographically so that you show only in a certain country or city
  • Set a per day $ amount so you know in advance the maximum you are paying
  • Find out which search terms are favoured by your target market - this can be extremely useful in planning your search engine optimisation
  • Write multiple advertisements that are rotated according to which are the most successful
  • Have multiple campaigns running for different purposes. For example a standard campaign that runs all the time and a sales campaign that runs infrequently when you have promotions or need sales

NetInsites will manage your AdWords campaign and make sure you're getting the best value from it.
